Summary[edit]

Description

Rihanata Ouedraogo is a local mayor and Gascode peer educator. Here she leads a group discussion about female genital mutilation (FGM) in Koassinga village, Burkina Faso.

“We talk about the reasons why girls are cut, the consequences on their health, children’s rights and the law,” she says.

“My goal is to end FGM. I feel very proud of the change I am bringing.”

The UK is working to reduce the practice of FGM by 30% in at least 10 countries in Africa in the next 5 years. Find out more about our work: bit.ly/1krV9Qk
