We stopped for a fewmoments to tell our experiences of the storm, andamidst a volley of good-byes and kind words leftthat hospitable and delightful little place upon ourlong and perilous descent. The bright sunshine revealed innumerable wondershid by the mists yesterday and the descent rankedas one of our most enjoyable drives. At the greatwaterfall of Pianazzo we halted, and dismounting,walked along the stone platform that is built outdirectly above the spot where the enormous mass ofwater rushes over the rock. On looking down wecould see a solid column 800 feet long, of boiling,living water, which roared aloud with deafeningnoise.
