Description

The Empire-Baby is an ultra-cheap, plastic novelty camera that takes 127 film. Although it says "U.K." on the faceplate, the camera was made in Hong Kong, as it says on the winding knob. The Empire-Baby is under the "Crestline" heading in McKeown's, but it's the exact same camera as the Wales-Baby and the Chase, which were made by Haking (Hong Kong). It's also the same camera as the Clix Midget.

The rows of bumps along the top and bottom remind me of upholstery tacks, but with the big red shutter lever, I think the designer was going for a circus-clown look.
