Description
Español: Embarque voluntarios catalanes a cuba en 1869. Guerra de los Diez Años. La guerra comenzó con el Grito de Yara, en la noche del 9 al 10 de octubre de 1868, en la finca La Demajagua, en Manzanillo que pertenecía a Carlos Manuel de Céspedes. Terminó diez años más tarde con la Paz de Zanjón o Pacto de Zanjón, donde se establece la capitulación del Ejército Independentista Cubano frente a las tropas españolas. Este acuerdo no garantizaba ninguno de los dos objetivos fundamentales de dicha guerra: la independencia de Cuba y la abolición de la esclavitud.
