Description

The Els is a tree (Alnus) and Hoeve means farm. On the farmyard there is a little stone barn intended to house withy workers. Build on a mound around 1875. Now it is a farmyard but once is was a swamp area with withy. The withy was harvested once a year.

This barn is a national monument.

Take notice of the spiderwebs in the grass. Thousands are there.

Op het terrein van de Elshoeve staat een griendkeet op een verhoging. Een terp. De griendkeet is gebouwd rond 1875 en is een Rijksmonument. De terp was nodig om het huisje te beschermen tegen hoog water. Let op de duizenden spinnenwebben in het gras.
