Bij het altaar staat koning Achab. Op de achtergrond rechts bidt Elia tot zijn God bij zijn brandoffer dat wordt ontstoken door vuur uit de hemel. Op de achtergrond links worden de profeten van Baäl na dit voorval ter dood gebracht. Onder de voorstelling een verwijzing in het Latijn naar de Bijbeltekst in 1 Kon. 18.
