Summary[edit]

Description Eggebek Naval Air Station, situated in the German Land Schleswig-Holstein, was home to Marinefliegergeschwader 2 from the mid 1960s till 2005, when the wing was disbanded and the station closed as a military airfield. Two years before the German Navy said "good-bye" to the local community with an Air Day, celebrating 90 years of naval aviation in Germany and 45 years of Naval Air Wing 2.
