[edit]Mortimer Boyle Dies. World War Hero Won Promotion for Gallantry. New York City, New York; May 2, 1925. Mortimer Boyle, formerly lieutenant colonel of the 828th Infantry, 82d Division, died here yesterday after an illness of 15 months. He joined the 82d Division at Atlanta, Georgia, as a captain in 1917, and after the Meuse-Argonne offensive, in which he was cited in divisional orders for gallantry, he was promoted to second in command of his regiment. Since the war he had been practicing law in this city. Mr. Boyle was founder of the 82d Division Association with headquarters in New York and was its president for two years.
