Description
English: Newspaper article describing the trial of Edward Bixby for larceny in 1870. In 1864, President Lincoln had sent Edward's mother a famous condolence letter on the loss of five of her sons during the American Civil War. One of those five sons was Edward, whom President Lincoln mistakenly had been told was killed.
