"Eddie Schneider Boy Aviator. August 18, 1930; Los Angeles, California. Eddie Schneider, 19-year-old aviator landed here to set a new junior transcontinental record as well as some new kind of mark for youthful credulity. Schneider flying a trim red Warner-Cessna cabin-plane arrived at the Los Angeles Municipal Airport by guidance of powerful searchlights at 7:13 p.m. August 18. His record, in actual flying time from westfield, New Jersey, was 29 hours and 41 minutes; this is 4 hours and 22 minutes better than the former record, set last May 4 by the late Frank Goldsborough, killed in a crash at Woodford Mountain, Vermont, last July 16." Note: The plane was a Cessna with a Warner Scarab engine.
