Note the pointed cloud formation at the left edge of the photos above the timberline, and its rapid fade into the background sky. A smaller cloud nearer the right edge above the timberline, invisible before totality and dark during and soon after, becomes white. Taken from the back deck of the home of my very gracious eclipse-party hosts in Pacific, MO. Camera stabilized with a Joby "gorillapod". No flash -- was thus unable to capture photos during most of the eclipse itself. My intent was not to try to photograph the sun itself during the eclipse, and in the thrall of pre-eclipse excitement I frankly had no idea what to expect from or in the resulting photos. Capture of the rapid cloud appearance change was thus a pleasant surprise. Hardly Sir Arthur Eddington's proof of Einstein's general theory of relativity during the 29 May 1919 total solar eclipse as viewed from Príncipe Island in Africa ... but illuminating nevertheless. Aus dem Achterdeck des Hauses meiner sehr liebenswürdigen Eclipse-Party-Gastgeber in Pacific, MO. Kamera stabilisiert mit einem Joby "Gorillapod". Kein Blitz - konnte daher während des größten Teils der Sonnenfinsternis keine Fotos aufnehmen. Meine Absicht war es nicht, die Sonne selbst während der Sonnenfinsternis zu fotografieren, und im Angesicht der Vor-Sonnenfinsternis-Aufregung hatte ich offen gesagt keine Ahnung, was ich von oder in den resultierenden Fotos erwarten sollte. Die Erfassung der schnellen Änderung der Wolkenerscheinung war daher eine angenehme Überraschung. Kaum Sir Arthur Eddingtons Beweis für Einsteins allgemeine Relativitätstheorie während der totalen Sonnenfinsternis am 29. Mai 1919 von Príncipe in Afrika aus gesehen ... aber dennoch erhellend.
