Summary
[edit]DescriptionEast Gill Force - geograph.org.uk - 1565410.jpg |
English: East Gill Force This attractive waterfall is a short detour from the main path on the north of the River Swale leading from East Stonesdale to Crackpot Hall and is therefore on our route from Keld to Swinnergill, one of the more popular walks with our kids because of the number of fossils that can be seen on the way (there's also a rusty old tractor to play on...) From my viewpoint the waterfall is not much of a paddling prospect because it is broken by a ledge and leads into the Swale above a lot of very serious waterfalls which are not for faint-hearted canoeists. Because we've done this walk so many times, it's a photograph I can't put a date on, but is likely to be late 1990's, in early autumn (rowan berries red but leaves not yet turning). |
