| Description |
This is the first batch of tomatoes. They will get planted Real Soon Now. Hopefully before we need the space for the main planting, which should be at this stage in about two weeks (and takes up four of these tables). That means I have to get some space ready for them. These tomatoes are in the unheated greenhouse since there's no room in the heated greenhouse. Fortunately the weather at this time is reasonable. Note the leaf blower hanging in the back. We use that to exercise the tomato plants. A lot of people "brush" their tomatoes by running something over the top of the plant. That bends the stem back and forth and encourages it to grow stronger. I find that wet leaves stick to whatever I try to brush them with, so instead I just just the leaf blower to bend them back and forth. |
