Early postmedieval spoon
Description
English: A complete copper alloy (?brass) postmedieval spoon. It has a fig-shaped bowl, which is marked close to the stem (on the obverse) with a fleur-de-lis. The stem itself is broadly rectangular, and flattened close to the bowl, but at the the terminal it is rather more rounded. It terminates in a seal-knop, which is characteristic of the 16th and 17th centuries. The spoon weighs 36.7g, and measures 157mm long, with a 48mm wide bowl, and a handle diameter of 4.5mm.
