Description
English: A silver hammered penny of Offa, dating c. 787-792. Light coinage, group II, 'king's name across field' obverse type. Obverse: OFFA REX in two lines divided by beaded line with cruciform terminals, three pellets above and below each terminal. Reverse: EDELWALD (Aethelwald) divided into two lines as with obverse. Moneyer Aethelwald, mint of London. North 287.
