On this April day, Agoonack has onher bear-skin jumper and hood, and runsout on the snow beside her father, whocarries his long spear in his hand. Thesun is up, and sends level rays acrossthe ice, and makes the little girl thinkof warmth, although, if she had a ther-mometer, she would see that it standsat-30°; and that is colder than youhave ever known it to be.
