This Key-figure represents a reconstructed side view of the head and greater portion of the neck, showing the levels of the sections from the left side, with reference to the convolutions and fissures, the bones of the face, and principle muscles. These levels are indicated by the transverse lines 2-18. The left half of the skull has been removed as far as the upper margin of the orbit and the external auditory meatus. The location of the stutures in the removed portion of the skull have been represented by red lines in order to show their relation to the principle convolutions and fissures. The platysma has been put partially reconstructed, since it would obscure the underlying muscles. This image is from the following book:
