Description
Deutsch: Luise Duttenhofer: Illustration zu Goethes Gedicht "de:Der Zauberlehrling" (frühestens 1797, dem Entstehungsjahr des Zauberlehrlings). Auf einem Sockel mit einem Blütenornament stehend, beschwört der Zauberlehrling den menschgewordenen Besen („Auf zwei Beinen stehe, oben sei ein Kopf“) mit den Worten „Stehe! stehe! denn wir haben deiner Gaben vollgemessen!“, sein Treiben einzustellen, aber dem übereifrigen Lehrling ist das Zauberwort entfallen: „Ach, ich merk es! Wehe! wehe! Hab ich doch das Wort vergessen!“.
