Summary[edit]

Description

This could be fun. who, where, when, what?

[/photos/gnmcauley/ Niall McAuley] was on the ball with this one right from kick off, he quickly identified the "Dunne" as John William Dunne!

Dunne worked initially on early military aircraft, concentrating on tailless swept wing designs to achieve the first certified inherently stable aircraft. He later developed a new approach to dry fly fishing before turning to philosophy, where he achieved some pre-eminence and literary influence through his theory on the nature of time and consciousness, which he called "Serialism".

[/photos/24700417@N04/ nl042] was close behind Niall, but, I am afraid no cigar this time.

Niall was also first to suggest April 2nd 1910 as he date for this photo, this was backed up by [/photos/129555378@N07/ sharon.corbet]

The consensus is that this is a D.5 plane, please read the comments for more technical information.

Anyone care to comment on the relationship (if any) between Mason and Getty around this photo?
