Summary[edit]

Description
English: Dumbleton Hall, near to Dumbleton, Gloucestershire, Great Britain.

Looking north to the Dumbleton Hall Hotel and its lake. The estate was originally owned by the Cocks family of Eastnor Castle (<a href="https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/1468597">SO7336 : Front entrance to Eastnor Castle</a>) and was sold to the Holland family in 1822. The house was built in 1830 for Edward Holland by architect George Stanley Repton, son of the famous landscape gardener Humphrey Repton. It was constructed in a neo-Tudor style using a mix of Temple Guiting limestone and bricks from Holland's own brickyard to the north of the village.

Edward Holland was for many years MP for Evesham and a leading member of the Royal Agricultural Society of England. He died in 1875 and the estate was bought by the Eyres-Monsell family, who in turn sold the Hall to The Post Office Fellowship of Remembrance in 1959.
