English: A marker established by the Springfield Agricultural Society:

"Commemorating the Springfield Grain Growers who contributed to the first shipment of wheat from Manitoba.

Robert Black D. McDonald Alex Gibson F. Dick John Speer

On October 21 - 1876, shipped by Red River steamer, 857 bushels of red fife at 85 cents per bushel, consigned by Higgins & Young of Winnipeg, Manitoba, to Steele Bros. of Toronto, Ontario for use in Ontario as seed.

Erected July 1967 by Springfield Agricultural Society."
