Rose Mboye has been in dry cleaning for 10 years – and business is booming. She and her husband Freddy are expanding with the help of Equity for Africa – a partnership now backed by the UK - who have loaned them two new laundry machines to pay back over time. It's allowed them to open a second shop and employ three more people: a total of twelve. They are now about to take business orders to clean dirty overalls, on top of their usual custom. Rose says: “It has meant we can improve quality and driven up our business. We have three kids and it means we can help them to study – our eldest hopes to become an engineer.” The partnership is part of a wider drive by the UK to promote business that can help build prosperity.
