Dansk: Illustration af Poul Steffensen til Carit Etlars roman Dronningens Vagtmester, der foregår under den Anden Karl Gustav-krig i 1658-1660. Gøngehøvdingen Svend Poulsen og Ib Abelsøn er kommet til Arnøje, hvor adelskvinde Elsebeth Buchwald har bedt dem om at komme. Hendes datter Karen Kaas og Svend Poulsen elsker hinanden, og hun stopper ham før de ankommer for at tale med ham. Hun beder ham om at bære over med hendes mor, der er blevet forhærdet af krigens ulykker. Svend Poulsen (ca. 1610 - ca. 1679) var en virkelig person, men historien er fiktion. Svend Poulsens udseende er også fantasi, for der kendes ingen portrætter af ham.
English: Illustration by Poul Steffensen from the Danish novel Dronningens Vagtmester by Carit Etlar which takes place during the Dano-Swedish War in 1658-1660. Svend Poulsen, Gøngehøvdingen, and Ib Abelsøn has come to Arnøje where the noblewoman Elsebeth Buchwald has asked them to come. Her daughter Karen Kaas and Svend Poulsen loves each other and she stops them before they arrives to talk with him. She asks him to bear over with her mother who has been hardende due to the bad lucks of the war. Svend Poulsen (app. 1610 - app. 1679, number two from the right) was a real person but the story is fiction. The look of Svend Poulsen is also fantasy as there is no known portraits of him. |
