English: Drainage ditch near Lower Barn Farm "Red and green together be seen in the dark time of the year", to quote a song by Maddy Prior. This open ditch marks the beginning of the transition from arable farmland to marshland: although fields on both sides are cultivated, they are flat and low-lying and the marshes are not far away to the east, beyond the sea wall that runs round to Beaumont Quay 685. |
