Cleveland Medical Libraryand left to it his own personal library and a bequest of $10,000: As a gynecologist Dr. Rosenwasser stood very high in his owncommunity and was a national figure in his advocacy of the de-layed treatment of ectopic pregnancy, a proceeding which hasfound many adherents and the following of which was thor-oughly in keeping with his conservative habit of mind. A product of the older school of gynecologists, having studiedunder Dr. E. W. Cushing of Boston and Dr. Joseph Price ofPhiladelphia, he was an adept at the mechanical treatment andthe plastic work, for which this school was famous, as well as tothe later developments of radical abdominal surgery to which hebrought a wide experience from his previous general practicewhich made his judgment unusually sound. Dr. Rosenwassers death from angina pectoris, while not unex-pected because of some prodromal symptoms, nevertheless camewith a distinct shock to a host of friends both professional and layin the community.

Dr. Montgomery Linville was born in Independence, Wash-ington County, Pa., on March 28, 1854, and died at his home onNorth Mercer Street on November 14, 1910. He was the sonof Jeremiah and Martha J. Montgomery Linville. His motherwas a member of a distinguished family, one brother havingmade a brilliant record in Congress. At the early age of six-teen Dr. Linville graduated from Bethany College, and thenentered Jefferson Medical College, and graduated in 1873 whenonly nineteen years of age. After his graduation he com-menced the practice of his profession in Princeton, LawrenceCounty, Pa. He remained there only a short time and thenmoved to New Castle, Pa., where he achieved success and wasrecognized..as the leading surgeon in that part of the country.
