Dr. Miklos Hatenyi, Hungarian-born research engineer at the Westinghouse electric and manufacturing company. He made various types of nuts and bolts, attached weights to the bottom of each model and heated them to "freeze" the stress lines, then cut slices from the center of each model and photographed the thin plastic sections to show which nut or bolt divided the "pull" among threads
