ns above us? Barry Cornwall. N the western side of the Brandywine,four hundred yards or so below Copesbridge, there inses at the waters edgea precipitous mass of rock seventyfeet high. The ascent on the northis steep and rugged, but a little exer-tion soon brings you to the top. Whenyour breath is recovered, you are in-clined to dispute the modest estimate of seventy feet, and arequite willing to affirm that it must exceed a hundred. I sharedthis opinion myself, but taking a ball of twine and fastening astone to one end, I flung it into the stream and found my error.Looking westwardly from the summit, you perceive thatthis mass of rock is the eastern tenninus of the highlandsbetween you and Marshallton, a mile and a half distant. Facingabout, the view, while not a comprehensive one, is interesting.To the left is the Strasburg Road leading to West Chester.
