English: Double-decker on route 38, near to Finsbury, Islington, Great Britain.
The 38 between Victoria and Clapton Pond is one of London's busiest bus routes. It was also one of the routes converted under the previous London mayoral regime to 'bendy buses' - vehicles that seem to be loved or loathed by Londoners in equal measure. The new mayor - Boris Johnson - pledged to replace them and the no 38 - from this month - is one of the first routes to be converted back. Here a brand new bus waits in a queue to emerge from Essex Road and on to Upper Street, Islington. |
