Thermometer with actress Dorothy Dalton

Summary[edit]

Description
English: Thermometer with actress Dorothy Dalton made by a Chicago company for the advertising of theaters, on page 19 of Section 2 of the February 28, 1925 Exhibitors Herald. The name of the theater would be in the section below the dotted line (not shown in image), and theaters could pass the cards to members of the public. Color photographs of various film stars were available. The cards were 3.75 inches wide and 7 inches tall. At the time, a cinema was often one of the few public buildings available in the United States with air conditioning, and a thermometer with the theater name would easily remind a person where they could cool off during the summer.
