Summary[edit]
DescriptionDoorway to "The Worm", Malvern Station - geograph.org.uk - 1427058.jpg |
English: Doorway to "The Worm", Malvern Station At the northern end of the platform, next to the bridge carrying Avenue Road over the lines, there is this doorway.
It leads to a passageway (nicknamed "The Worm")under the road and into the basement of what was the Imperial Hotel - built in Victorian times by the railway company. It allowed luggage (and perhaps visitors) an easy route between the station and hotel. The building is now a public school for girls, Malvern St.James, so the worm is no longer in use. |
