English: 20-1-2017 - Don Ricardo Blázquez presidió en la capilla del monasterio de las dominicas Madre de Dios de Olmedo, la Eucaristía que sirvió para clausurar las celebraciones del Año Jubilar que ha conmemorado los 800 años de fundación de la Orden de Predicadores por Santo Domingo de Guzmán.
El convento olmedano es cabeza de una agrupación de diez monasterios contemplativos en todo el mundo, desde Grecia a Taiwan, pasando por Angola, Camerún, Argentina, CurazÇao, Corea del Sur o Puerto Rico. Reúne entre sus muros una comunidad muy rica con más de cuarenta religiosas venidas de trece países, que mantienen la vida de oración y trabajo propia de los monasterios dominicanos. Otra de las peculiaridades del monasterio Madre de Dios de Olmedo es que cuenta con dos hermanas en proceso de beatificación, dos religiosas que han vivido en esta casa en el siglo XX, la han reformaron y fueron las impulsoras de su expansión misionera internacional: Sor Teresita del Niño Jesús y Madre Teresa María Ortega. |
