Summary[edit]

Description
English: The Coast Guard offers a helping hand to whales that have become entangled in fishing lines and nets. On the morning of July 24, 1998, Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod responded to a harbormaster's call to save an entangled right whale. The ensuing rescue effort included the HH-60 helicopter shown in this picture, as well as a 41-foot support boat, part of a multi-agency support team. By late afternoon, after locating and losing sight of the whale twice, the whale shook free of his lines with a little help from his friends.
