English: Figure 1. The time courses of the dog Jaytee’s visits to the window during his owners long, medium, and short absences. The horizontal axis shows the series of 10-minute periods (p1, p2 etc.) From the time she went out until the time she was on the way home. The last period shown on the graph represents the first 10-minutes of her return journey, the point for which is indicated by a filled circle. The vertical axis shows the average number of seconds that Jaytee spent at the window in each 10-minute period. The graphs represent the average of a total of 24 experiments.
