Title
Disc
Description
English: This small copper alloy disc measures 29mm in diameter, and it is flat and rather thin in section (2.9mm). Its central piercing is small(1.8mm diameter); too small for use as a spindle whorl, and one might postulate that it is a weight, possibly for use in fishing. If so, it must have been used with other, heavier weights, as it has a mass of only 10.8g. Alternatively, it may be some form of counter, gaming piece, or fastening. The finds has no chronologically diagnostic features, and may date to any time from the Roman period onward.
