[edit]
Description

Diplobunops matthewi (Peterson, 1919) - fossil mammal skull from the Eocene of Utah, USA. (CM 11801, Carnegie Museum of Natural History, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA)

This specimen was formerly referred to as Diplobunops ultimus. Diplobunops matthewi is also known as Agriochoerus matthewi.

From museum signage: "Diplobunops was an artiodactyl like pigs, camels, and deer. However, it had claws instead of hooves and wasn't a swift runner. It may have lived in herds, since many fossilized remains have been found together."

Classification: Animalia, Chordata, Vertebrata, Mammalia, Artiodactyla, Agriochoeridae
