Description
English: Reconstruction of the painting Die Jünger auf dem Weg nach Emmaus, denen der Herr nahe ist (The disciples on their way to Emmaus, with the Lord next to them), Lukaskirche Frankfurt am Main, 1914-1944.
The original painting was painted by Wilhelm Steinhausen (died in 1924) in 1914 and was destroyed in 1944. The reconstruction was made by Emmaus. It is the only coloured reconstruction of the 21 destroyed paintings of the Lukaskirche in Frankfurt am Main.
Deutsch: Rekonstruktion des Bildes Die Jünger auf dem Weg nach Emmaus, denen der Herr nahe ist, Lukaskirche Frankfurt am Main, 1914-1944.
Das Original von Wilhelm Steinhausen, Todesjahr 1924, wurde 1914 gemalt und verbrannte 1944; die Rekonstruktion wurde von Emmaus angefertigt. Sie ist die einzige Farbwiedergabe der 21 verbrannten Gemälde der Lukaskirche (Frankfurt)
