Summary[edit]
| Description |
English: November and early December are times of processions in Mexico. They often occur as part of the celebration of Our Lady of Guadalupe Day (December 12). Groups perform elaborate dances, accompanied by drumbeats, as the procession winds its way through town. Dancers often rehearse for months prior. Their intricate costumes are composed of distinct pieces: feather headdresses; aprons with beads that make noise as they dance; images of the Virgin Mary, Baby Jesus, Jude the Apostle, and other saints; and huarache sandals.
