Summary[edit]

Description
English:

Previously a carriage and buggy company, the Anderson Electric Car Company began producing electric automobiles in 1907. Sales remained steady due to high gasoline prices during World War I, but improved internal combustion engine automobiles eventually forced the company out of business by 1939. Electric cars were supposedly preferred by women because they did not emit exhaust fumes and they did not require cranking.
