Deutsch: Diese würdevolle klassizistische Statue von Johann Jakob Oechslin stand ursprünglich über einer Säule der Ostfront der Kathedrale. An ihre Stelle trat 1928 eine neubarocke Statue von Alfons Magg. Die überlebensgrosse Statue des Desiderius flankiert heute zusammen mit dem heiligen Mauritius den Eingang zur Galluskapelle in St. Gallen.
English: This dignified classicist statue, work by Johann Jakob Oechslin, originally stood above a column of the east front of the cathedral. It was replaced in 1928 by neo-baroque statue by Alfons Magg. Today, the larger-than-life statue of Mauritius flanks with the statue of Mauritius the entrance to the Gallus Chapel in St. Gallen, Switzerland.
Français : Cette statue néoclassique digne, œuvre de Johann Jakob Oechslin se trouvait à l'origine au-dessus d'une colonne du front est de la cathédrale. Elle a été remplacée en 1928 par une statue néo-baroque d'Alfons Magg. Aujourd'hui, la statue de Saint Didier de Langres, plus grandes que nature, flanque en combinaison de la statue de Saint Maurice l'entrée de la chapelle Saint-Gall à Saint-Gall, Suisse.
