Description

St. Augustine's Church, Derry, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland


English: Two-lancet stained glass window (W03), created c. 1945 by Clokey & Co., Belfast, and depicting Elisha and his servant at Dothan, quoting 2 Kings 6:16 “Fear not for they that are with us are more than they that be with them”. Dedication: “This window is erected in memory of the one hundred and seventy-five members of this Congregation who served in the Second World War 1939–1945.” (See gloine.ie.) Below is a plaque in memory of those who gave their lives 1939 to 1945: Jack Anderson, Alexander Carland, David Crone, Bert Johnston, William McDermott, Percy Bailey, Edward Cochrane, Robert Dinsmore, Sam McFeeters, Hercules Miller, Thomas Banham, Sydney Carson, Jim Gilmour, William McGowan, and Jack Smith.
