Summary[edit]

Description
English: Derelict building beside the track. This is Strawberry Hall - it is believed that it once used to be a gamekeeper's house. See also > 1027083. The ruin is located beside a track traversing Lord Anson's Wood. Lord Anson's Wood is a coppiced broad-leaved semi-natural woodland located south of North Walsham. It is reached by a public footpath leading across fields in southwesterly direction; it veers off a farm track > 1027038 which turns off the B1150 (North Walsham Road) by the old stump cross, leading to Lord Anson's Wood (seen in the background). The path traverses the site of the battle fought in 1381 between the forces of Bishop Spencer and the rebels under John Leicester, a dyer from Norwich > 1027068. This battle is commemorated by the stump cross, relocated a short distance further to the east and now standing beside the B1150 > 458419.
