English: Derelict Outbuildingd at Bluecoat Charity Farm The Blue Coat Charity Farm was scheduled to be sold at auction five days after this photo was taken. The auctioneers, Brown & Co., web site gave the following information: "We are kindly instructed by the Trustees of the Blue Coat Charity to offer the property for sale by public auction. The Blue Coat Charity has existed for approximately two hundred years and was set up to provide clothing (blue coats) for poor gentlemen of Barton upon Humber. In the recent past income derived from the letting of the farm has been used to provide a clothing allowance for Barton residents who are in need. Our instruction to market the property is due to the previous tenant surrendering his tenancy and the Trustees of the Blue Coat Charity seeking an alternative investment." |
