| Description |
On Christmas Day morning, the railcar of the Walzenhausen mountain railway has derailed on its ride from Walzenhausen to Rheineck. As usual from time to time, a test of the brakes was done while driving. During this maneuver, the rear axle of the railcar jumped from the rails. It happened in the middle of the route, and not direct reachable with vehicles. To lift the railcar back on the rails with a mobile crane was not possible. In laborious manual work, the railcar was lifted and placed back on the rails. Switzerland, Dec 25, 2009. See where this picture was taken. [?] |
