Description
Nederlands: Monument van de Weerstand op het kerkhof van St-Gillis bij Dendermonde. Het bestaat uit een rechthoekig bakstenen vlak, dat terugspringt naar het centrum toe. Op de buitenste pijlers prijkt een halfverheven bakstenen kruis met respectievelijk de jaartallen 1940 en 1945. Het centrale vlak bevat een witstenen laagreliëf van de hand van Georges Claessens met links de voorstelling van vier geketende figuren, centraal de wachttoren van een kamp en twee mannen die een adelaar neerslaan, rechts twee weerstanders (man en vrouw) met een fakkel en een mitralleur.Grafmonument van de Weerstand
English: Monument in honour of the Resistance at the graveyard of Sint-Gillis bij Dendermonde. The monument is a red brick wall. on the pillars one can see two brick crosses with underneath 1940 and 1945. On the relief by Geoges Claessens one finds four chained figures, a watch tower and two men killing an eagle, to the right are two members of the Resistance (male and female) with a torch and a machine gun.
