Summary[edit]

Description
English: The first launch of the Strategic Defense Initiative Office's Delta Clipper Experimental (DC-X) reusable single-stage rocket at White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico, on August 18, 1993. The purpose of the program was to develop and test operational concepts and techniques. The plain launch pad illustrates the operational simplicity sought by the DC-X program managers.
