Summary[edit]

Description

Xmas postcard sent to Australian Army Driver Tom Beazley of 1/2 Movement Control Group, Middle East Headquarters (Cairo), 2nd Australian Imperial Force.

Digitized by myself at high resolution & fully restored (using a touch of duo-tone to give better mid-range depth & building detail) from the badly rubbed, scratched & faded original photo post card, using Adobe Photoshop Creative Studio 8.0 (note - reproduction of this postcard is no longer restricted by commercial Copyright).

The original glass slide image that this particular post card was published from was produced by the Rose Stereograph Co. The original image is no longer restricted by any form of Copyright (reason - unknown exact date of publishing & before 1955).

The only copyright I have applied is Attribution - Share Alike.

==========================

IMAGE INFO The view along Collins Street, Melbourne is looking west-south-west from near Alfred Place. The Melbourne Town Hall city clock appears to be showing approx. 10.55 AM. The clearly visible commercial advertising for "Martin & Pleasance Homeopathic Pharmacy" is on a building located at 90 Collins St.

The other smaller view "in the heel of the shoe" is looking south-west at the historic Flinders Street station (cnr of St Kilda Road & Swanston Street). For the purpose of map location, I have used the Collins Street view.
