Here's a post-regrade photo from about one block east in 1927.
This has to be a pre-regrade photo: undeveloped mudflats at Sixth Avenue, Hill rising at about Ninth or Tenth Avenue (which would eventually be flattened, with a bridge going across from 12th (at the north end) to 14th (at the south) an altitude roughly comparable to the hill shown here.
