  • Prentenboek met tekst op rijm en 20 handgekleurde litho's met taferelen waarin aangeklede honden optreden. Alleen op het titelblad en de omslag (identiek, met fraaie sierrand) is een mens afgebeeld. De honden zijn soms gekleed als militairen: ze excerceren, marcheren en belegeren; ze gaan als dames en heren uit wandelen, naar een bal, uit eten en reizen per koets; ze doen circuskunstjes zoals balanceren met schotels en koorddansen; ze spelen voor Pierrot en Cassander en brengen een serenade.
