Description
English: The Rasphuispoort on the Heiligeweg in Amsterdam. The gate was once connected to the Rasphuis (a correctional house for bums and beggars and later a correctional house for young people) and today it serves as a side entrance to the Kalvertoren shopping center. The corridor towards the shopping center is largely empty due to the corona pandemic.
Nederlands: De Rasphuispoort aan de Heiligeweg in Amsterdam. De poort stond ooit in verbinding met het Rasphuis (een tuchthuis voor zwervers en bedelaars en later een verbeterhuis voor jongeren) en tegenwoordig dient het als zijingang van het winkelcentrum de Kalvertoren. De gang richting het winkelcentrum is grotendeels leeg vanwege de coronapandemie.
