From left to right: Florence Louise de Mole (1881–1966), seated; Emily de Mole, standing; Clive Moulden de Mole (1886–1934), standing; Gladys Rose de Mole (1887–1979), seated; Lancelot Eldin de Mole (1880-1950), standing; Winifred Emily de Mole (1886–1903), seated; and William Frederick de Mole, in foreground. Lance de Mole was a prolific inventor who suggested the idea of what would become the tank to the British authorities before the First World War (however but his idea was not taken up at the time) and the tank was developed later by others. |
